1) What are the standard delivery fees?

  • - Courier to Door - all orders under R1500 will be subject to a delivery from R99.95 to R49.95

Offers of Free Shipping are only valid in South Africa. Remote locations in South Africa may incur an additional shipping charge. Shipping costs over and above this amount will be extra. Baby Life reserves the right to apply delivery charges on irregular orders. The purchaser will be notified prior to the processing of such an order. If the purchaser has already paid for such an order, Baby Life will reimburse the purchaser within 3 business days, should the purchaser elect not to proceed with the order due to additional shipping charges. Irregular orders include but are not limited to: excessive (not within the norms of personal consumption) number of units ordered of the same item (such as nappies or certain foods), large number of items that are marked down or repeated orders of larger items within an account.

2) How long will my order take to arrive with courier delivery?

  • - Courier to door delivery time = 2 to 5 working days

Time from order to delivery is as follows: Availability time + Delivery time

  • Example 1 - In Stock (can ship same day) + Courier to door (2 to 5 working days) = Delivered within 5 working days.
  • Example 2 - In Stock (ships to 2 to 3 days) + Courier to door (2 to 5 working days) = Delivered within 4 to 8 working days.

The above is a guideline, we’ll do everything possible to make sure it’s quicker depending on the availability status of each item.

We ship to most international destinations world wide. Please select International Shipping when checking out and we will get 3 shipping quotes to you within 1 working day.

Shipping Delays

We always try our best to ensure that your package arrives within the stipulated delivery times or sooner. Of course, there are some things that are beyond our control like weather, delivery errors, courier services & supplier delays. Regardless of the reason for the delay, we will do our best to help you as best we can and endeavor to inform you as soon as we know of any impending delays.

Failed Delivery

Please notify Baby Life upon placing your order, of any specific delivery times or instructions (within regular office hours / business days / delivery times and areas). Should the courier service not be able to complete a delivery at the address specified by the purchaser, either due to an incorrect delivery address or unavailability of purchaser or assigned persons to accept the parcel, within regular delivery times, Baby Life may at its discretion charge the purchaser a delivery fee (equal to or lower than our standard delivery charges) for the subsequent delivery of the package.

Returns & Replacements

Not happy with your items? At Baby Life you can return your order for FREE within 7 days of receiving your items! Just follow the steps below and please also take a moment to go through the full returns policy:

1) Fill out the returns form, Click Here or Email info@babylife.co.za requesting one please.
2) Email the correctly filled out form to info@babylife.co.za or fax it to 086 692 3513. The returns process starts on the day that the form is sent to us.
3) Put the items that you are returning in the original packaging. Please refer to the conditions below for information about special items that can't be returned.
4) We will contact you as soon as possible to arrange for the pickup. Please have items ready at the time of the pickup.
5) Once the collection has been done, the items will be submitted to a quality control check at our warehouse. Once they have been cleared, you will be issued with store credit.

Baby Life Cancellation & Returns Policy

1. General Terms

 

1.1 NON-DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS – Except for certain exceptional cases (as listed below), you are entitled to cancel any purchase made via this website within 7 days after your receipt of the product and to obtain a refund of the full amount of your purchase in the form of store credits. Note that although you are entitled to cancel your purchase as aforesaid, you must return the product in the same condition as you received it. All returned items will be submitted to a quality control check once received at our warehouse, and credits will only be issued apon clearance. Should a product not pass this quality control, it will be returned to you in that same condition. Please indicate on the return form why you want to return the order on the return form.

EXCEPTIONS - The ability to cancel purchases of non-defective products as set out above will NOT apply in respect of the following types of products: (for items below you will get a replacement as we cannot resell these:

  • - Baby items (breast pumps, underwear, food, toiletries)
  • - Bedding items (Duvets and linen)
  • - Beauty items that have been opened
  • - Flowers and other products which are likely to deteriorate or expire rapidly
  • - Products which by reason of their nature cannot be returned (which include electronic Vouchers and for hygiene reasons, underwear, swimwear, and earrings for pierced ears)

You will only be entitled to a refund in respect of the exceptions listed above in the event and to the extent that any such refund is provided for under the express provisions of this Refund Policy herein below. Please note that the items listed above cannot be taken back by us and cannot be refunded.

1.2 LATE DELIVERY - If a product purchased is not delivered within the agreed delivery period, or where no specific period was agreed, within 30 days after having purchased the Product, the ECT Act entitles you to cancel such sale on a 7 days notice to us of the product- to do so please email us at info@babylife.co.za. Should a product purchased be unavailable, we will notify you and offer an alternative or issue a full refund within 30 days after such notice.

We will always try to deliver your purchase as fast as possible to you- if you need it urgently and our estimated delivery date will be too late for you, you may contact us and we can see if we can assist with overnight express delivery at a surcharge (price depends on item availability and delivery address and can be a minimum of 100 Rand). 2. Refunds on purchases

2.1 EARLY CANCELLATIONS – 5% FEE* -Except for electronic Voucher, which cannot be cancelled once purchased, you are entitled to cancel (either in whole or in part) any sale with attracting a 5% cancellation and/or administration charges if you cancel prior to the packaging of the products ordered. To do so please email us at info@babylife.co.za.
* If timeously cancelled as aforesaid, you will be refunded minus a cancellation fee in respect of such cancelled sale (including delivery charges), provided that, should a sale only be partially cancelled and delivery charges as re-calculated on the value of the revised order exceed the delivery charges as calculated on the original order, you shall be liable for the amount of such excess delivery charges.

2.2 DEFECTIVE / DAMAGED / UNSUITABLE PRODUCTS - General rule: If, within 30 days after delivery of a product to you:

  • - you find that the product is defective/faulty, unsuitable for the purpose for which it was indicated in the product description (or otherwise generally intended), not legal or not reasonably durable (based on circumstances and product type) (hereinafter referred to as being“Defective”) and
  • - you arrange to return such product to babylife.co.za for inspection in the manner described and the product is subsequently found:
  • - to indeed be Defective: you are entitled to a free replacement (if available) or store credit. A refund minus a 5% admin fee can be organized but please note process of such will take 7 working days
  • - NOT to be Defective, you will be liable for the costs incurred in having such product returned to Baby Life and then re-delivered to you.

When is a product 'defective'? Please note that the following issues/problems will NOT render the product Defective as aforesaid and will not entitle you to any repair, replacement or refund:

  • - faults resulting from normal wear and tear
  • - where you, or someone unauthorized to do so by Baby Life, has altered or damaged the product. IMPORTANT: you should refuse to accept delivery of any product which is visibly damaged, and if you only discover the damage after the courier has left, then you must report it to Baby Life as soon as possible and within 48 hours. If only reported after 48 hours, it is reasonable for Baby Life or its suppliers to determine that the damage was caused post delivery.
  • - where a toy is not suitable for your child because of his/her age, but the toy is only suitable for children over a certain age, as may be expressly indicated, or reasonably obvious from the nature of the toy
  • - where an item of clothing does not fit you because your measurements do not accord with the item’s size (ie you have incorrectly estimated/measured your size)

Exceptions to the general rule:

  • - Special Offers: If the product was ordered pursuant to a “Special Offer” and such product is no longer being offered at the special price, should you elect to have the product repaired or replaced (as opposed to being refunded), Baby Life will only be able to repair, not replace the same.
  • - Certain product types which have been opened: To combat the illegal copying of digital media, if the following types of products are returned for being defective or damaged, they will only be replaced with another copy of the same product and will not be refunded: CDs, Videos, DVDs, audio tapes, computer software, games and printer consumables.
  • - Manufacturer’s Warranties/Guarantees: Certain products may carry additional manufacturer’s warranties/guarantees which are wider in scope, and/or longer in duration, than the 30 days warranty generally provided (as discussed above). Consequently, if a defect is discovered 30 days from delivery, you could still rely on the following.

Please call customer service 071 217 3087 or email to info@babylife.co.za to get the defective item picked up and a replacement delivered free of charge. Should you not wish a replacement but rather store credit/ refund, please call our customer service center.

2.3 NON-DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS - Products which are NOT defective, damaged or unsuitable as discussed above, but which you want to return for whatever reason, can be returned within 7 days from delivery, as explained above under ‘Non-Defective Products”. by following the returns procedure set out. NOTE: If you wish to return any non-defective product delivered to you for a refund as aforesaid, please do not remove the product from its original packaging and/or use or wear the Product. Jewellery and accessories in particular, need to be returned in original packaged condition and not have been tampered with. Remember that Baby Life may hold you liable for any damage you cause to the product (including its packaging) while in your possession.
Wrong item/Incorrect Product: If the incorrect Product is delivered to you by mistake (ie it is not the Product you purchased), please do not remove the Product from its original packaging, open or use the Product in any way. Please promptly contact the Baby Life call centre at 071 217 3087 or email us at info@babylife.co.za to notify, so that we can resolve the mistake by arranging to collect such Product from you and deliver the correct Product to you, as quickly as possible. In the unlikely event that we will not be able to source the correct product, we will offer you alternatives or a refund.

2.4 ARRANGING RETURNS - If you want to return a product you have purchased from Baby Life for any reason permitted under this Refund Policy, you must in all instances first notify Baby life thereof to inform us of the reason for your return by contacting us via either:

  • - our email at info@babylife.co.za
  • - our call centre at: 071 217 3087

Once you have successfully logged your return as aforesaid, Baby Life will issue you with a returns authorization number (“RA Number”) and arrange for the collection of the product from you. You must ensure that the Product to be collected by the courier is packed so as to comply with the following:

  • - the Product is properly protected
  • - save where being returned due to being Defective, the Product is still in its original packaging, together with all accessories, instructions and documentation (if any), and in perfect condition for the purposes of resale (ie the product must not be damaged, scratched, soiled, and in the case of electronic hardware, the adhesive screen covers must not have been removed);
  • - aforemntioned order Number is accurately reflected on the courier’s collection slip
  • - returns form is filled out

IMPORTANT

  • - Baby Life is not able to accept the return of any products which have not gone through the above process and/or are not accompanied by a valid Order Number. Products returned without a valid Order Number will not have been validly returned and may be sent back to you at your expense.
  • - Please treat products and packaging with reasonable care while in your possession. Nothing herein detracts from any right Baby Life may have to hold you liable for any damage you cause to a product (including its packaging) while in your possession

 

2.5 PROCESSING OF REFUNDS - Should you be entitled to a refund for any reason, such refund shall be credited to your Baby Life shopper profile.

3.1 STOCK SHORTAGES - In the event that one of our partners is out of stock of the product ordered by you, we will notify you thereof, whereupon

  • in the event of a temporary out-of-stock situation, you shall be entitled either to cancel the order and be fully refunded, or to maintain the sale subject to a later delivery date as may be agreed or decice to take an alternative product that we will recommend to you
  • in the event of a permanent out-of-stock situation, you shall be entitled to be fully refunded

In being ‘fully refunded’ as aforesaid, you will be refunded the relevant purchase price and delivery charges, without having to pay any administrative or other charges.
